Enlist limited use version does not include the printed documentation mentioned below. These notes include: --- Enlist Tutorial --- Useing the Go To command --- Useing the Find command --- If ENLIST cannot find the ENLIST1.INI file Enlist Tutorial _______________ The tutorial guide will familiarize you with the many features of Enlist. Find the tutorial in appendix B of the user manual. Useing the GO TO command ________________________ The GO TO command on the Search menu will help you locate the beginning entries in a long list of items. The command displays a list box within its own window with one occurence of all items in your database. Since it is likely that a customer list will have many duplicate items among which to search, use the Go To list box to quickly locate the items. Just double click the entry in the Go To form, and the customer list will scroll to the first item in its list. Useing the FIND command _______________________ The FIND command will search the database for any occurance of a sequence of characters within a word. The command will find "Doug" within "Douglas" and all subsequent occurances. Use the F3 key to find the next occurance of a search item. When the search reaches the end of the list, it will display a dialogue box with the caption "Search text not found". If ENLIST cannot find the ENLIST.INI file __________________________________________ The ENLIST.INI file is extremely important to the Enlist program. It contains the commands "item" and "systemcode" which are used to load the item names and system codes to the Edit form Combo boxes. You choose these names from the combos to complete a record entry. If Enlist cannot find the ENLIST.INI file, then you will see an error message. If the error occurs, locate the ENLIST.INI file useing the Windows File Manager. The installation program will place the ENLIST.INI file in the Windows sub directory normally, unless you have changed the name of this directory when you installed Windows The installation program will detect which sub directory you installed Windows. When you have found the path to the ENLIST.INI file, make note of its path. Next highlight the ENLIST icon in the Windows Program Manager useing a single click. Hold down the ALT key and strike the ENTER key. This will display the properties of the ENLIST program. In the command line box, append a command line argument to the startup path. For example, if your startup path to ENLIST is: C:\ENLIST\ENLIM10.EXE then add the path and file name for the INI file. Your completed command line will be: C:\ENLIST\ENLIM10.EXE_C:\WINDOWS\ENLIST.INI NOTE: In the example above, type a space where the underscore (_) exists. This should be the only space in the command line. ENLIST will now recognize the path to the INI file. Substitute the correct Windows directory in the example above.
